Mark Lawrenson backed Tottenham to edge out Bournemouth at home and return to winning ways.
Spurs were left licking their wounds on Thursday, with Brighton putting four goals past them at the Amex Stadium.
Perhaps what will be more concerning to Ange Postecoglou than the result was the performance, with his players seemingly lacking energy, just like they did against Everton last week.
The Australian admitted in his post-match press conference on Thursday that his players looked quite tired (Football.London), which is perhaps to be expected since the 58-year-old has been forced to stick with the same group of players over a busy period due to Tottenham’s injury issues.
Spurs will be hoping to have Oliver Skipp back but they will be without Dejan Kulusevski, who is now suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Brighton.
Will Spurs be able to beat high-flying Bournemouth?
While Lawrenson pointed out that the Cherries are coming into the game with a lot of confidence, he suggested that the Lilywhites will have too much for their opponents.
The pundit told Paddy Power: “Bournemouth are on a good run, scoring lots of goals, but Tottenham are at home and they try to blow you away in the first 20 minutes. It’s Spurs for me.”
Tottenham 2-1 Bournemouth.
Spurs Web Opinion
Our performances at home have generally been quite good this season and we should have enough to overcome Andoni Iraola’s men if we play at our best. Postecoglou will be hoping that Giovani Lo Celso can step up in the absence of Dejan Kulusevski.
