Giovani Lo Celso has been speaking ahead of the clash with Bournemouth this weekend, and has heaped praise on his manager Ange Postecoglou for helping him feel a part of the Tottenham squad once again.
Since joining Spurs back in 2019, Giovani Lo Celso has failed to live up to expectations, and even spent the last two years away from the club, on loan at Villarreal.
However, the midfielder has enjoyed something of a resurgence this season under new boss Ange Postecoglou. Lo Celso has made ten appearances for Spurs, and has scored two goals already this term (Transfermarkt).
Were it not for injuries, the 27-year-old would probably have featured more prominently this season, too. However, the promising start to the campaign has offered hope that Lo Celso may finally fulfil his potential at Spurs.

Lo Celso loves working with Postecoglou
The player himself is clearly happy, too. In the matchday programme for the game against Bournemouth, Lo Celso has shared his feelings on being a part of Postecoglou’s squad, and why he is so happy with the style of football Spurs are playing now.
He said: “In pre-season, he told me that he wanted me to stay. I was really grateful for his belief in me, so I worked hard and showed every day that I wanted to be here and play.
“I’ve felt really comfortable – in training and in the way he coaches. I love his idea of football which gave me the belief that I could find a place in his team. The coaching staff have helped as well as my teammates.
“It’s a personal challenge for my career but the coach’s plan and philosophy is helping me improve my game because he asks me and wants me to do specific things in my role. Things have been going great – he’s made me feel very confident and comfortable since he joined.
“With Ange, he’s a real motivator and he gives a lot to the team in games like that. He’s really into the finer details and prepares for games meticulously with a way of playing that means we’re the protagonists against whoever we face – this is a great thing. I think the team is on the right track.”

It’s been fantastic to see Lo Celso finally given a proper chance to flourish, and you can really tell that this style of play suits him to the ground. Hopefully, he can enjoy a little run in the team over the next few weeks with players missing, and really establish himself in the squad.
