According to the print edition of Corriere Fiorentino (as relayed by Sport Witness), Fiorentina are working hard to sign Bryan Gil on loan but Tottenham Hotspur are not showing much urgency in the matter.
Sport Witness previously relayed reports from Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport on Thursday, with both outlets suggesting that Fiorentina are not sure if Tottenham would give the green light for Gil to leave on loan.
Both of those publications suggested that the Viola were ‘still waiting to understand’ if the Lilywhites had any intention of sanctioning another temporary deal for the winger, which would be his third such move after going on loan to Valencia and Sevilla during the last two years.
Fiorentina are hard at work trying to sign Bryan Gil
Corriere Fiorentino have now said that the Italian club’s CEO Joe Barone and director of football Daniele Prade are both ‘working insistently’ on signing the Spain international.
However, it is suggested that Tottenham are not overly keen on sanctioning a loan move for Gil and are ‘still considering’ whether to accept the formula proposed by Viola.
The publication adds that Fiorentina will move on if Spurs are not willing to entertain loan offers as the Serie A side do not have the required funds to sign the 22-year-old permanently.
Spurs Web Opinion
I do believe that Tottenham would eventually sanction a move away from Gil late in the transfer window, whether it be a temporary or permanent move.
It would likely have to be the former as hardly any La Liga or Serie A side have the financial means to spend £10m-£15m on a new signing this month.
