Voetbal Primeur have claimed that Bryan Gil is reluctant to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month as Feyenoord continue their efforts to sign the winger on loan.
Over the last week, several Italian publications have reported on how keen Fiorentina are on landing Gil on a loan deal (Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
However, the Serie A club are not the only ones who are alleged to be interested in the 22-year-old, with Fabrizio Romano claiming on January 9 that Feyenoord are also keen on taking the Spaniard to De Kuip.
Bryan Gil is reluctant to leave Spurs this month
Voetbal Primeur have now offered an update on the reigning Eredivisie champions’ attempts to sign the Tottenham man on loan.
They point out that for the next few weeks, the Dutch club will be without Ayase Ueda and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who are representing Japan and Iran respectively at the Asian Cup, while Gambia’s Yankuba Minteh will be at AFCON.
Due to the trio’s absence, Arne Slot’s men are thought to be keen on adding attacking reinforcements to their squad and have identified Gil as a target.
However, it is alleged that despite the former Sevilla man’s restricted role under Ange Postecolgou at Spurs, he is ‘reluctant to leave’ Hotspur Way this window.
Spurs Web Opinion
It appeared like Gil was desperate to leave on loan in January during the previous two seasons as he was not particularly enjoying his football under Antonio Conte.
However, the 22-year-old is seemingly one of many players who is loving life under Postecoglou and he perhaps believes that he is capable of forcing himself into the Australian’s starting eleven.
