Swedish starlet Roony Bardghji, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over the last month or two, has opened the door to the possibility of linking up with Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall at Spurs.
There is reportedly a lot of excitement at the North London side about the arrival of Bergvall, with many at the club, including the technical director Johan Lange, allegedly viewing the teenager as a potential future superstar (Football.London).
Like the midfielder, Bardghji is also quickly emerging as one of the best young prospects in Swedish football, with the winger turning a lot of heads with his performances in the Danish top flight and the Champions League for FC Copenhagen this season.
Since December, it has been widely reported by various publications that the 18-year-old attacker is being watched with keen interest by Spurs’ scouts (90 min).
Roony Bardghji cannot rule out a move to Tottenham
When asked about Tottenham’s rumoured interest and his decision to remain at the Danish capital last month, the youngster has now told Aftonbladet: “Now it is closed and I am here. My main focus is here. There is not much more to say.
“All the talk is gone. I try to make it as good as possible for FCK. I’m happy that I’m here. I also chose to stay here. It feels good.”
It has been extensively covered over the last week that Tottenham saw off competition from Barcelona to land Bergvall in the dying stages of the January window (Mundo Deportivo).
When asked about his compatriot’s decision to snub the Catalan club in favour of a move to North London, Bardghji said: “I am happy for him. He’s an incredibly nice guy. I hope everything goes the way he wants. It will be fun to talk next time we meet with the national team.
“I don’t know enough details. It’s hard to know what Barcelona said or offered. I think it seems okay, it’s his choice. He knows what feels best and where he will be comfortable.”
The winger was then asked about the possibility of him linking up with Kulusevski and Bergvall at Hotspur Way, to which he responded: “It’s fun to think about. You never know, it could happen. Hard to say now.”
Spurs Web Opinion
If Tottenham are serious about their interest in Bardghji, the presence of the Swedish duo at the club would certainly give them an advantage over other suitors.
The Lilywhites will likely continue to keep a close eye on the Copenhagen star’s progress over the next few months before deciding on whether to pursue him next summer.
