Genoa chief executive Andres Blazquez has admitted that the Serie A club may not be able to turn down an offer of €35m (£30m) for rumoured Tottenham target Albert Gudmundsson next summer.
Gudmundsson has emerged as one of the most proficient attackers in the Serie A this season, with his reputation growing with each game.
The 26-year-old, who can operate on either flank or in the hole in behind the centre-forward, has been one of Genoa’s main attacking threats this campaign, having scored 11 times across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Over the last couple of weeks, a whole host of Italian outlets have reported that Tottenham are eyeing a move for the Iceland international next summer.
The latest such update came from Gazzetta dello Sport a couple of days ago, with the publication stating that the Lilywhites have ‘sent observers’ to Italy to study the player and ‘have the money’ to make sure they ‘close the operation’ for him.

Blazquez has now admitted that the Serie A side are open to cashing in on Gudmundsson next summer and that they would consider any offers around the £30m mark for the player.
When asked about the rumoured Tottenham target, the Genoa chief told Calciomercato: “If I give him away, I lose an important part. If 35 million Euros arrive this summer, we will think about it.
“The players are transitory. Look at Atalanta: to create competitive teams, you also have to sell. There’s nothing wrong with that, you have to know how to find the right players.”

If Gudmundsson maintains his current standard of performance until the end of the season, there is no doubt that there will be quite a few suitors for him next summer, including potentially multiple Premier League sides.
Genoa would look to get a bidding war going for the 26-year-old but Tottenham might be hoping that they can use the relationship they built with the Serie A side to their advantage to steal a march on the other suitors.
