Former Foot Mercato editor Leo Aschi believes that Alejo Veliz is quite capable of shining at Sevilla over the next few months and forcing his way into Ange Postecoglou’s plans for next season.
Veliz is yet to feature for Sevilla since completing a loan move to the club last month, with the striker continuing to recover from the knee injury he picked up at the start of January.
Earlier this week, AS reported that the youngster is edging closer to a return and working as hard as possible to join in with group training as soon as he can.
In fact, the outlet even explained that even though Sevilla boss Quique Sanchez Flores had given a couple of days off to the players recently, the on-loan Tottenham man reported to the gym in an effort to step up his rehabilitation.
Is Alejo Veliz the future of the Tottenham front line?
The Argentine potentially has a great opportunity to impress at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium as those at Tottenham will be keeping close tabs on his progress, and Aschi believes that the youngster may be on the verge of exploding on the big stage.
The journalist told GiveMeSport about Veliz: “Now at Sevilla for the next six months, Veliz will be keen to get more playing time. It’s an ambition the Argentinian is more than capable of fulfilling, as he joins a struggling team in which there will be less competition than the one he experienced at Tottenham.
“We can also imagine that his presence in a Spanish-speaking country will make it easier for him to integrate. If he proves convincing, there is every reason to believe that he could return to Tottenham with the ambition of fighting for a first-team place – even if Richarlison is enjoying a successful period at the helm of Spurs’ attack.”

Sevilla are a huge club and the Veliz will have plenty of pressure to deliver at Andalusia, which is why it will not only be a good test of his ability but also his mentality to see how he copes with the expectations of leading the line for the La Liga side.
