According to talkSPORT, Ange Postecoglou is driving Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Wolves winger Pedro Neto.
Neto has been in career-best form this season, having scored thrice and registered 10 assists across all competitions despite having his campaign interrupted by injuries (Transfermarkt).
The Portuguese star is thought to have emerged as a target for several of the Premier League’s big hitters ahead of next summer, with The Sun claiming that Tottenham and Arsenal are ready to poach him from the Molineux Stadium.
The outlet explained that while Liverpool and Manchester United have also shown interest in the player in the past, the race for his signature looks set to be between the two North London sides.
A couple of days ago, The Standard suggested Wolves may demand at least £60m if they are to let the Portugal international leave the club next summer.
Postecoglou wants to bring Neto to Tottenham
According to talkSPORT’s latest update, Postecoglou is quite keen on adding the former Braga star to his squad next summer.
The report points out Wolves would be willing to let their star man leave and that Mikel Arteta is also a ‘long-standing’ admirer of the attacker.
The publication adds that the Lilywhites and the Gunners are thus ‘bracing themselves for a transfer tug of war’ for Neto’s signature next summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given that the PSR regulations are now being strictly imposed by the Premier League, I expect the transfer fees to come down drastically over the next couple of windows. I would be surprised if any club is willing to spend £60m on Neto, given his injury record.
