The Telegraph have now revealed that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea could all be plotting summer moves for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in the past.
As recently as December, it was reported by various outlets that the Palace star had been a long-term target for Spurs (Sky Sports).
It was reported by The Sun just ahead of the January transfer window that the Eagles had informed the Lilywhites that the 23-year-old would not be sold mid-season, with Ange Postecoglou’s men deciding to secure Radu Dragusin from Genoa instead.
Spurs are not the only club looking at Marc Guehi
If Tottenham do decide to reignite their interest in Guehi during the summer, they would have quite a lot of competition to contend with if The Telegraph’s latest update is to be believed.
The outlet says that Liverpool and Man Utd look ready to battle it out for the English international when the transfer window opens in June.
The report makes no mention of Spurs but suggests that Chelsea could also look to re-sign Guehi as they are likely to be in the market for a centre-back to replace Thiago Silva.
Spurs Web Opinion
Now that Postecoglou has three top central defenders at his disposal, I cannot see Spurs spending £50m-plus to sign another centre-back. The bulk of Tottenham’s transfer budget will likely be spent on a striker, a winger and a midfielder next summer.
