Richarlison was unable to play against Crystal Palace today, but the Brazilian striker has hinted he may be ready to return against Aston Villa next weekend, despite his manager’s claims he will be out for two to three weeks.
It has been quite the season for Richarlison, as the Spurs striker finally appears to have found his feet in North London, and his goalscoring boots, too.
The 26-year-old has scored ten Premier League goals this season, including a run of nine goals in eight games since the turn of the year (Transfermarkt).
However, the forward was notably absent from training this week, and Alasdair Gold suggested he may have picked up a knock. Ange Postecoglou suggested the injury sustained by his striker could keep him out for at least a fortnight (Football.London).
Richarlison wants to return for Villa game
As per ESPN Brazil reporter, Joao Castelo-Branco, Richarlison apparently suggested his injury may not be as severe as first thought, and that he could well be back in time for the all-important game against Villa next weekend.
Castelo-Branco tweeted: “Richarlison, recovering from injury. He arrived wearing this beautiful retro team shirt to watch the game today in London. He is already returning to training and says he even has a chance to return in the next round.”
This is, of course, contrary to Ange Postecoglou‘s statement to the press yesterday, where the Spurs boss insisted Richarlison would be missing for up to three weeks, as pointed out by Dan Kilpatrick.

We will need every player to be at their best next weekend to get the win against Villa, and having Richarlison back would be a huge boost. I’ve a feeling it will be touch and go, but if we can get him anywhere near ready, you just know he will demand to play.
