TEAMtalk have handed Leeds United a boost in their pursuit of Joe Rodon by revealing that the centre-back is tempted to make a permanent move to the club irrespective of whether they win promotion to the Premier League.
Rodon has hardly put a foot wrong since joining Leeds on loan last summer and the impressive partnership he has formed at the back with his Ethan Empadu is one of the main reasons why Daniel Farke’s men are sitting in second place at the moment, three points behind league leaders, Leicester City.
There is no option to buy attached to the loan deal, with the Championship outfit thus needing to negotiate with Spurs in the summer if they wish to sign the 26-year-old permanently.
Leeds boost in Joe Rodon pursuit
TEAMtalk have now revealed that the demand for Rodon’s services is growing, with a number of Premier League sides already said to be exploring moves for the centre-back.
However, the report claims that they have heard from sources close to the centre-back that the player is now ‘strongly considering’ a permanent move to Elland Road regardless of whether Leeds’ push for promotion is successful or not.
The outlet adds that a figure in the region of £12m to £15m will be enough to convince Tottenham to cash in on the Wales international in the summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Rodon evidently feels at home at Leeds and is enjoying his football again. However, should Farke’s men fail to win promotion in the summer, the 26-year-old’s head could be turned by a decent offer from a Premier League side, particularly if he is convinced he can get regular game time.
