Journalist Dean Jones has said that he cannot see Tottenham making any other decision other than signing Timo Werner permanently in the summer.
Werner has certainly made a positive impact since arriving on loan from RB Leipzig, with the forward having found the back of the net in Tottenham’s last two matches to add to the two assists he already has to his name (Transfermarkt).
At the start of this week, BILD revealed that Tottenham have to decide on Werner’s future by June 14th as the £15m option to buy expires on that date.
The outlet claimed that the German international is enjoying his time at the Premier League side and wishes to remain at the club beyond the end of the season.
A couple of days ago, Sports Lens reported that the staff at Hotspur Way have been very happy with the way Werner has conducted himself on and off the pitch.
The report stated that ‘various sources around the club’ are implying that Ange Postecoglou‘s side wants to activate the option to buy the forward after the impact he has had.
Tottenham are likely to sign Timo Werner
Jones believes that the decision is a no-brainer for the Lilywhites, given the low fee involved.
When asked if Tottenham will activate the permanent clause, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “It’s hard to see any other decision other than for Werner to remain at Spurs after this season. His option is £15m, and that’s a steal when you consider the quality and experience he can bring to the squad.
“If Spurs qualify for the Champions League, they will need a few heads in that team who know what it takes to manage games and situations. Werner has played over 40 games at that level.
“When you think that Spurs will need to balance out the squad more next season by playing domestically and in Europe and that you can have a player like this for just £15m, it feels like a no-brainer.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The only way I see Spurs not signing Werner permanently is if the forward does not want to make the switch. However, that is certainly not going to happen, with the 28-year-old quite clearly enjoying his football under Postecoglou.
