Japthet Tanganga’s agent Roberto de Fenti has confirmed that the centre-back will consider any offer that arrives from Napoli in the summer.
Tanganga has had a difficult few years owing to a combination of injuries and being overlooked by successive Tottenham managers.
The defender has decided to follow the footsteps of Harry Winks and Joe Rodon by dropping down to the Championship to get his career back on track following an ill-fated loan spell at Augsburg in the first half of the season.
The decision already looks to be a smart one, with the defender having made nine appearances since his loan move and seemingly getting better with every game.
Millwall manager Neil Harris showered praise on the Tottenham academy graduate’s character and ability in an interview with Southwark News a little over a week ago.
Tanganga will consider a Serie A transfer
De Fanti has now confirmed that although his client’s contract with Spurs runs out in the summer, the North London club have the option to extend the deal by a year.
He also said that the 24-year-old will be open to offers from Serie A sides when the transfer window reopens in June.
When asked about Napoli’s rumoured interest in Tanganga, the agent told Calcio Napoli 24 Live: “I don’t really like talking about one of my clients. He has a particular contract with Tottenham, who can exercise the option for another year, otherwise he will be free. We should wait for a date to see what happens.
“How can you not consider Napoli? The player was close to Milan a year and a half ago. Naples is a top club on a national and international level. Should there be any interest we would be happy.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Di Fanti has been angling for a move to Serie A for Tanganga for a few years now and I would certainly not be surprised if the defender ends up in Italy at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old might look at how the likes of Tomori and Smalling have done in Italian football and perhaps see it as the ideal platform to get his career back on track.
