Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Ilya Zabarnyi, Lloyd Kelly, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guehi are on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham bolstered their options at centre-back in January by bringing Radu Dragusin from Genoa, with the Romanian now battling Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven for a place in the starting eleven.
Despite having those three options as well as Ben Davies at his disposal, Ange Postecoglou confirmed earlier his month that the club will look to add more reinforcements in central defence this summer (Football.London).
Tottenham want a new centre-back this summer
Gold has now revealed that Zabarnyi has been a long-term target for Tottenham, with the club alleged to have had their eye on the Ukranian prior to his arrival in the Premier League.
He says that the Lilywhites still retain interest in the 21-year-old, having been impressed by his showing at Bournemouth this season.
Gold suggests that Spurs also retain an interest in both Kelly and Adarabioyo, who are both out of contract this summer, but he states that Fulham will try and tie down the latter to a new deal over the coming months.
Finally, the journalist adds that Spurs have also ‘long appreciated’ Marc Guehi but he points out that the Crystal Palace star is going to carry a big price tag this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham are not going to spend upwards of £40m on fourth-choice centre-back. The club will likely look for a young, up-and-coming defender or perhaps a versatile option, who can cover for the midfiedler or full-back areas as well.
