Football.London have said that as many as 13 first-team players could be offloaded by Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the Lilywhites look to reshape the squad.
While Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge has undoubtedly been a successful one, it is clear that the club need more quality if they are to challenge the best sides in the Premier League next season.
With Tottenham also looking set to return to the Champions League, the Aussie coach would want to bulk up the squad in order to give the side the best chance of competing on multiple fronts.
Mass exodus expected at Tottenham
While Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of signings over recent months, Football.London have now claimed that as many as 13 players could leave in order to free up room in the squad and the wage bill for new signings.
The outlet suggests that there could be wholesale changes in the middle of the park, with Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele likely to depart.
There is also expected to be major turnover in the full-back areas, with Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon, Sergio Reguilon, and Djed Spence potentially on their way out.
The report adds that these players could be joined by the likes of Bryan Gil, Japhet Tanganga, Joe Rodon, and Troy Parrott, who could all be asked to find new clubs. Further, the publication suggests that Postecoglou’s men could also decide to move on one of Brandon Austin or Alfie Whiteman.
Spurs Web Opinion
Our squad and wage bill are quite bloated at the moment due to the club’s inability to offload the deadwood during the past couple of transfer windows. That would undoubtedly be one of Tottenham’s priorities this summer.
