I’m a medical student – people never expect what I love to do in my free time and some say it’s unprofessional
A MEDICAL student has danced her way into the hearts of many with her favorite post-work activity.
At first glance, many wouldn’t expect what she does in her free time, and some say it isn’t appropriate for a healthcare professional.
TikTok creator Julia Rose (@juliarose.md) is a prime example of prioritizing and balancing your professional life and passions.
Rose is currently in medical school and working on her doctoral degree.
When she’s not in class or honing her skills, you can find her moving her toned body and grooving at music festivals.
In a video on the platform, she called out critics who judged ravers as “uneducated party animals.”
“Everybody needs a way to decompress, especially in healthcare,” she wrote in the caption.
She further added in the subtitle that she wanted people to accept that “intelligent, motivated people can decompress by dancing, socializing, and having fun to their favorite music.”
The video began with a video of the blonde beauty typing on a computer as she wore a surgical cap, medical facemask and scrubs.
It then jumped to showcase a montage of moments in the future doctor’s life.
The visual switched back and forth between moments of her wearing minimal clothing and stylish rave-themed outfits to her wearing scrubs and being in a hospital environment.
Many people praised Rose for her transparency and honesty about the ongoing need for a work-life balance.
“To all the haters, if you don’t have a personality or a life outside of work, just say that…you go queen,” one viewer commented.
Another TikTok user stated that they were a 46-year-old RN and had “been a raver since the ’90s!”
“I’ve been doing nuclear medicine and an RSO for almost 9 years and I Rave whenever I can haha. I’m here for it…still have to learn how to shuffle,” another admirer shared.
