I feel strong again after my marriage split, I’m ready to meet someone, says Rylan Clark
RYLAN Clark is feeling stronger and more content with himself than ever after a tough 18 months.
The TV favourite hit rock bottom following the breakdown of his six-year marriage to Dan Neal in spring 2021, but reckons he is now ready to find The One.
Appearing on the High Performance podcast hosted by Jake Humphrey and Prof Damian Hughes, Rylan joked: “I had an idea of what I wanted, which was a husband and a Range Rover… and I still have the Range Rover.”
The It Takes Two host continued: “I am now brilliant. I’m really good. The clouds started to part when I realised that I hadn’t lost something I thought I had.
“I turned a situation that I thought was awful into an opportunity. I was 34 and I realised that when something is not right, it’s not right. It wasn’t right.
“That was when things started to change. Majorly over the past year I have tried to merge my work and professional life and personal life more.”
Explaining how, after learning more about himself, he feels ready to date again, Rylan – real name Ross – added: “I’d like to be with someone. I would like to share, I am quite a sharer.
“I like giving and looking after people. For the past year and a half I have not been doing that and for the first time Ross has had to be on his own.
“I’m 34 and I’d never lived on my own in my life.”
Selena drawn to Drew
Selena Gomez has dated Justin Bieber and THE WEEKND but now she is romancing another musician, The Chainsmokers’ Drew Targett.
Sources in the US have claimed the pair are seeing each other but keeping things “very casual and low-key.”
It sounds as though Andrew is quite a wild one though, having told last week how he had previously had threesomes with his bandmate Alex Pall.
Speaking about their kinky exploits, Drew recalled: “I think we were both like, ‘What the f**k just happened?’ Because they were never planned, you know what I mean? It’s weird. I’m not gonna lie.”
No Spice at Glasto
MELANIE C says the Spice Girls won’t be playing Glastonbury this year despite months of teasing that they could.
She admitted: “It’s the question I hate the most, because the answer is as disappointing to me as it is to Spice Girls fans.
“We would love to do Glasto. It just doesn’t fit with the current plan with the girls.”
It’s not all bad news though, as she added: “We do want to get back on stage – everything is up in the air.”
Mimi sets sights on USA
MIMI Webb isn’t fussed about offending exes or boyfriends with her songs.
The singer from Canterbury, Kent, pictured heading for a TV appearance in New York, exclusively told Bizarre about her passion for writing about her love life, most notably on latest single Red Flags, which is all about ignoring warning signs in a relationship.
She said: “I think I’m probably not in a relationship is because I’m writing about it. But I’m a songwriter and I take inspiration from my journey I just want to be able to write about it and have people connect to my songs. The right person, he’ll be able to deal with it.”
On her goals for this year, ahead of the release of debut album Amelia on March 3, she said: “I want a No1 album, No1 song and I want to get in the Billboard Hot 100.
“It’s a very big thing but I want to smash it in America. I want people to get to know me out there. A Brit award, too.”
Naomi’s rising star nod
Whitney Houston actress Naomi Ackie is one of five hopefuls nominated for the EE Bafta Rising Star Award.
The nominations were announced yesterday when it was revealed the Londoner, who portrays the late singer in new biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody, will go up against Good Luck To You, Leo Grande’s Daryl McCormack, The Woman King’s Sheila Atim and Sex Education stars Aimee Lou Wood and Emma Mackey.
Previous winners of the award, which champions up-and-coming acting talent, include Shia LaBeouf, Tom Holland and John Boyega.
The full 2023 Bafta nominations will be revealed tomorrow, ahead of the ceremony on February 19.
On playing Whitney, Naomi said: “It was extraordinary. It was hefty and I don’t know if I would do it again, but I have learnt a lot from it.
“Working with Stanley Tucci was unreal.”
