I transformed my home by teaching myself DIY – people are amazed by how fab it looks, it’s like Pinterest IRL
A DIY whizz has shared how she transformed her clean slate house into the home of her dreams using nothing but her own two hands.
Jenny shared a clip to social media, where the first half showed the blank walls and simple amenities the house came with before she put her personal touch onto it.

Titling the video ‘DIY home journey’, she started by showing off the hallway before moving onto the kitchen, which had black countertops and wooden cupboards.
The rooms in the house had just white walls and doors with dirty floors.
“When I first moved into my new build home on 4th Jan 2019 it was a complete blank canvas!” she told viewers.
“As soon as the year wait was up, I got to work on making it my own! I taught myself DIY and new skill sets and found a love for it all!”
While the whole house lacked character, the garden was similar as it had a simple green lawn with a pavement leading up to a wooden shed.
She said: “The graft could be hard work at times but it was so worth it!” as she shared a photo of herself working on the tiling outside.
“Because now this is the home I made myself!” she went on, showing off her open closet with a shelving unit that had plants, picture frames and ornaments on top.
Her kitchen, which she painted in a light peach colour, had a little bar with two stools and floating shelves.
And following a photo of herself painting slats of wood, she showed off her stunning bedroom, which had two bedside tables alongside a stunning off white headboard.
@jenshomejournal panelled the walls herself and painted it half blue and half white before installing a shelf, where she displayed pictures and placed plants.
Her living room looked incredible too, with panelled details on the wall and light wood floors. She placed a plant column in one corner of the room and had a two-seater grey couch with a black footstool as well.
“I’ll continue to share my journey, the ongoing learning and DIY!” she continued.
She then showed off the accent wall, opposite the sofa, which she painted in a textured grey colour.
Installing two floating shelves above her TV and its unit, she also showed off how many plants she had placed around the room.
Her bathroom was a masterpiece, too, with green panelling on the bottom half, floating shelves and gold detailing throughout.
In the garden, meanwhile, she changed the tiles and added more plants alongside a set of rattan furniture.
“It’s been over 3 years of DIY work on my little house to turn it into a home!” she wrote in the caption. “I’ve learnt what interior styles I love, new skill sets and so much more!” followed by a red heart emoji.
People were left impressed by her efforts as one person wrote: “Fantastic,” while another shared: “Respect”.
A third chimed: “You have a beautiful home xx,” as a fourth added: “You have really good taste in homeware and decor,” with a heart emoji.
And a fifth said: “Real life Pinterest,” with a shock emoji.
