I thought Khloe Kardashian was pranking me asking me to model for her – I was just a normal girl working in a hospital
A PAIR of models selected out of thousands to model for Khloe Kardashian thought they were being pranked… until the reality TV star flew them out to LA.
Rimshah Asghar and Tanisha Link were just normal girls, working as an NHS associate practitioner and paralegal respectively, when the opportunity cropped up on Instagram.
The pair both thought they were getting scammed when they were invited to LA by Good American[/caption]Last year, Khloe Kardashian put out a social media post seeking models of all experiences, backgrounds and looks to model in the upcoming campaign for her denim brand, Good American.
A whopping 100,000 hopefuls responded and 40,000 were invited to an in-person interview.
Only seven women were chosen in the end – with Rimshah and Tanisha being two of them.
Thanks to the open casting, their modelling careers were rocketed to Los Angeles, US and they have even met fashion mogul Khloe in the process.
The pair got through the first round of casting in London at the end of last year and were flown out to the US in February under the guise of a second casting.
But it turns out, they were being flown out because they’d landed the job.
On the trip, they modelled Good American’s newest clothes for a global campaign.
Rimshah, from Manchester, wasn’t very hopeful she’d land the job after the first casting because imposter syndrome made her feel like she didn’t “belong”.
So when she was asked to fly out to LA in February, she thought it was a prank call.
Rimshah was in “complete and utter disbelief” when her dreams were confirmed by Khloe’s business partner Emma Grede – who has also worked on Kim Kardashian’s Skims.
She recalled: “I had to message Emma and the Good American team to make sure I wasn’t being pranked.
“The feeling as a Pakistani Hijabi to be chosen out of thousands is unexplainable.
“You feel seen. You feel heard. You have a sense of belonging. You no longer feel the weight of having imposter syndrome.”
Rimshah, who just last year was working hospital shifts dreaming of her big modelling break, hopes the opportunity will get her on the runway.
She joked: “I’ve always been told I’m 95% legs so I may as well put them to work.”
Similarly, Tanisha thought the email inviting her to LA for a “second casting” was a sick scam.
When she realised it was the real deal, she was speechless.
Tanisha recalled: “We shot the Good Squad 2023 campaign which entailed a day of photoshoots, filming, voiceovers, content creation for TikTok and Instagram.
“It was quite possibly the best day of my life and I will never forget it!
“I felt so grateful to have been given this opportunity.
“The thought that thousands of girls applied to me in the position that I am today got rid of all self doubt that I had… I am so unbelievably blessed!”
The pair are now official members of Khloe Kardashian’s Good Squad for 2023 – the tribe of models the reality star chooses to represent her brand through annual open castings.
Khloe Kardashian commented: “The Good Squad is a diverse group of women who join us in leading the charge in making real change in the fashion industry.
“They represent more than a moment — they represent a commitment to diversity, inclusivity, acceptance and empowerment of ALL women.
“They represent me, they represent you, they represent us.
“I’m incredibly proud of our open castings and I’m excited to welcome the newest members of our Good Squad family.”
