But police are looking into allegations he used some of the money to fund his own lifestyle, kept sporting memorabilia which had been donated for auctions and used a van bought with donated money for personal use.
He has denied the allegations.
In 2018, he had applied to the Charity Commission to register For Our Veterans as a charity but did not see it through.
The Commission then chased him to check if he had been raising funds.
He told them he had never claimed the group was a charity and said his website and JustGiving pages had been shut.
Concerns were first passed to Suffolk police in 2019.
No further action was taken, but the force is investigating again after further allegations.
Trevor, of Woodbridge, Suffolk, is now a YouTuber and plans to stand at the next election.
He told The Sun: “I don’t run a charity.
“Every penny was accounted for.
“I don’t have a vehicle.
“I’m living on the breadline.
“I’ve nothing to hide.”
