Furious Bake Off fans shocked as fan favourite is first to be eliminated
THE GREAT British Bake Off fans were left furious as Amos was eliminated on tonight’s first episode – with viewers saying he was “robbed”.
The Channel 4 show sees 12 amateur bakers do everything in their power to avoid a soggy bottom, as they attempt to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

Dan was awarded star baker tonight, but Amos was sent packing, leaving fans shocked.
One wrote: “AMOS WAS ROBBED.”
Another posted: “Noooo Amos was my early favourite.”
A third commented: “Not Amos, he didn’t deserve to go.”
Paul and Prue challenged the new batch of bakers with a vertical cake task.
It left the participants baffled, with panic setting in and time running out for some.
Tasha already suffered the dreaded “soggy bottom” after putting her cake on the wrong shelf in the oven, while Matty’s buttercream did not go well.
Elsewhere, Keith, 60, pulled out all the stops and impressed the judges with his orange liqueur cake.
They were then tasked with a technical challenge of making a GBBO chocolate cake – with two layers of moist chocolate sponge with a silky smooth ganache, topped with fresh raspberries.
Dana found herself in 12th and last place, followed by Tasha and Nicky.
Amos was chuffed with runner-up position, with Prue praising him saying: “I had no complaints” and Dan got top spot with, Paul saying it “looked like a great cake.”
After sweating it out in the first two challenges, the bakers were tasked with an animal-shaped cake show-stopper.
Amos opted for a killer whale, Nicky went for a beaver named Norman and Saku picked a turtle.
Christy impressed with her duck-inspired cake, but unfortunately Paul told Matty that his dog cake “looked like it had been run over”.
Viewers were delighted that their favourite baking show was back on TV.
Matt Lucas, who fronted the show alongside Noel Fielding, said he could no longer host GBBO alongside his other projects – but Paul and Prue also returned to judge the new batch of contestants’ incredible creations.
Speaking about the new series, Alison told her This Morning colleagues, she got the “jitters” when she entered the tent for the first time.
She said: “I’m gonna be honest, I have never been that nervous.”
Alison added: “If you think of the bigger pictures, you think this is a global show, I don’t want to ruin this. And I could you know, I’m a little bit risky!”
The Great British Bake Off continues at 8pm on Tuesday nights on Channel 4.
