My husband was left in charge for a week – mould started growing in the kitchen and trolls say I should throw him out
A MUM was horrified after seeing the state of her kitchen that her husband was left in charge of.
Hannah Misra took to social media revealing she took a week off from chores as she had Covid.
The mum locked herself on the top floor with her son while they were ill, leaving her husband in charge of the rest of the house.
But she was shocked when she came out of isolation to see her husband had done nothing to keep the kitchen tidy – finding mouldy cups and a smoothie she made before she got ill.
Hannah said: “It’s been seven days since I cleaned my kitchen.
“In fact, it’s been that long since I stepped foot in it my son and I got Covid when my husband somehow managed to avoid it, so we isolated on the top floor.”
She revealed that when she made her way downstairs, the kitchen was even worse than she could have ever imagined.
The dishwasher was piled high and not emptied, the kitchen sink was full of dirty dining ware and food and there was mould growing.
Even the bins hadn’t been taken out and the smell of vinegar was filling the room.
“The entire kitchen smells like vinegar, that means there’s rotten food hidden somewhere,” she continued.
Hannah found the culprit – a cup of food that had turned into mould which she quickly threw away.
“A huge part of me wants to feel shame over how the kitchen looks,” she added.
“Every time I think I’ve seen the worst of it – I’m proven wrong.”
“I don’t even know what food caused that mould. I don’t think I even want to know to be honest,” she captioned the post.
Despite being sick, Hannah blamed herself for how the kitchen looked – but many asked why her husband hadn’t taken care of it.
She went on to say that while she was ill, she was busy looking after her son, doing laundry, tidying the top floor and working from home.
The downstairs area was occupied by her husband and many thought he should have taken the responsibility of cleaning it.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @healing_saddie went viral with over 4million views and 340k likes and people didn’t hold back on their opinions.
One person wrote: “Throw the whole man out.”
Another commented: “Thank you for reminding me I’m better off single.”
“Wow your husband seems like a real gem! Did he just leave everything for you to clean for when you got better?” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “You did the best you could but did HE???”
“You deserve so much more in your teammate,” claimed a fifth.
“I appreciate you reminding me of my worth but I don’t share his story because it’s not mine to tell,” Hannah replied.
“We’ve both been through a lot. We’re both growing.
“But you’re right he should have done better.”
Someone else added: “He was isolated downstairs and that’s what it looked like??? Your husband is the problem.”
