Stop downgrading your home with decor mistakes – I’m an interior stylist & a ‘visually messy’ faux pas isn’t luxurious
HOW you decorate your space can say a lot about you.
An interior stylist has shared the common mistakes that are downgrading your home.
In her video, Abigail B (@itsabigailb) revealed the top three errors people make when designing their living areas.
“These are the reasons why your space is not looking elevated,” the TikToker said.
“Stop these mistakes that are downgrading your home.”
For her first tip, she advised her audience to limit the amount of color in each room.
“Keep your colors to a minimum, keep it to two or three if you can,” Abigail said.
“Too much colors in your room is like a stew with too much seasoning.”
She also recommended paying extra attention to detail when it comes to texture.
“Keep it to the minimal, if you have so many things like texture and patterns in your room it looks visually messy and that is not luxurious,” Abigail explained.
Finally, she shared the most visually pleasing way to display wall art in your home.
“You want to get that nice art gallery color fill and keep it quite minimal,” she said.
Abigail recommended spacing out your decor and avoiding having too many pictures or mirrors cluttering your walls.
“Keep it minimal, keep it light and sophisticated, less is more,” she told her viewers.
