Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher announce divorce after 14 years of marriage and vow to ‘work through this change’
ACTORS Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have announced their divorce after 14 years of marriage.
The couple shared the news about their split in a jointly posted Instagram Story.
In the snapshot, the two are in their all-white tennis gear as they cuddle together.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” they wrote.
“In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage.”
“We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been working through this change,” the post continued.
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children.”
“We sincerely appreciate you respecting our families’ wish for privacy,” the text concluded.
The pair walked down the aisle back in March 2010.
They share three children: daughters Olive, 17, Elula, 13, and son Montgomery, 9.
The split came after Rebel Wilson’s tell-all memoir, Rebel Rising, detailed a supposed incident where Sacha, 52, asked her to “stick her finger up his a*s.”
In late March, a passage from Rebel’s book was obtained by People Magazine.
The passage claimed Sacha pestered her to strip off.
Rebel claimed Sacha told her to, “Stick a finger up his a*s,” to make a funny scene.
“It felt like every time I’d speak to SBC, he’d mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene. I was like, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha,'” she wrote in her book.
In Sacha’s response, the actor denied Rebel’s claims and said he never forced her to strip down.
A spokesperson also reached out on behalf of Sacha.
“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby,” the spokesperson explained.
Nine cast members have also backed Sacha’s claims that the scene was written into the script.
Rebel’s book was released on in early April, but has been delayed in the UK for a few weeks due to legal complications with the allegations.
