Total solar eclipse forecast: Trend looks promising for sunshine
Totality for the total solar eclipse begins around 3:18 p.m. Monday.
The total solar eclipse is one week away, and the 4Warn Weather team is watching the forecast closely. The three big models that we use are now in range, and they will give us a look at the weather on Monday, April 8.
The forecast will change, but the trend looks promising. Here are what the big three models are saying for Monday:
- GFS (American Model): Mostly sunny during the morning with high-level thin clouds moving in for the afternoon.
- Euro (European Model): Mostly sunny during the morning with high-level thin clouds moving in for the afternoon.
- GEM (Canadian Model): Mostly sunny during the morning, becoming partly cloudy by the afternoon.
