Former NFL star Vontae Davis was found dead in a south Florida mansion on Monday, according to reports from multiple media outlets.
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Former NFL star Vontae Davis was found dead in a south Florida mansion on Monday, according to reports from multiple media outlets.
NBC affiliate WTVJ said the Davie Police Department is investigating a man's death at a home in Southwest Ranches, which is southwest of Fort Lauderdale.
Police have not confirmed the identity of the victim, but sources reportedly told WSVN and TMZ that the deceased man is Davis.
Aerial footage captured by the outlet showed police surrounding the 5-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom mansion. According to WPLG, property records show the multi-million dollar home belongs to one of Davis' relatives.
Police said preliminary information suggests the incident did not involve foul play.
Davis played cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.
"We are saddened to learn of the passing of Vontae Davis," a statement from the Bills read. "We are thinking of his friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time."
