Three charged after allegedly trying to smuggle contraband into Erie County Holding Center
After a search, authorities allegedly discovered 17 tablets of suspected narcotics.
BUFFALO N.Y. (WIVB) --Three people were charged after police found suspected narcotics on a woman visiting the Erie County Holding Center, the Erie County Sheriff's office reported Friday.
On April 4, 26-year-old Raven Adams entered the holding center to visit 35-year-old Kevin Allen. K-9 Artemis showed interest in Adams' waistband and performed a positive alert for the odor of narcotics.
After a search, authorities allegedly discovered 17 tablets of suspected narcotics.
After investigation, authorities discovered that Adams allegedly conspired with 22-year-old Jamin Haygood who was already incarcerated.
Adams was charged with promoting contraband in the first degree and conspiracy in the fifth degree.
Allen and Haygood were both charged with attempted promoting prison contraband in the first degree and conspiracy in the fifth degree.
Adams was held at the holding center pending arraignment while Allen and Haygood remained in custody.
