Shevchenko quits Ukraine as head coach
August 2 – Andriy Shevchenko has left his role as head coach of Ukraine just a few weeks after guiding his country to the quarterfinals of Euro 2020.
After a five-year spell, the former playing legend has called time on his tenure.
“With hard work we’ve shown that we are capable of playing a modern style of football,” he said on Instagram. “Thanks to all the fans for your support and criticism.
