The Pistons’ controversial loss to the Knicks cost 1 bettor $90K
The refs screwed the Pistons out of a win and this bettor out of so much money.
The Detroit Pistons aren’t the only ones hurting from poor officiating in a controversial 113-111 loss to the New York Knicks on Monday night.
With the Pistons clinging to a slim one-point lead, they just needed one stop to close out the Knicks on the road. They appeared to get it in the form of a desperate Ausar Thompson steal, who was then really strongly undercut by New York’s Donte DiVincenzo. It was an obvious foul in any situation, right? Wrong.
The refs let the sequence continue for some reason, and the Knicks eventually got a game-winning basket. The bizarre timing to swallow whistles on a blatant tackle cost the Pistons a win and one lucrative bettor, Marco Piemonte, a.k.a. the famous “Marco Parlay,” $90,000.

That is not a typo. Imagine losing that much money on that ending.
Imagine having $90K to win $810K on Pistons ML and losing because of this ending

If Piemonte wanted to go off on the refs like Pistons head coach Monty Williams did, I wouldn’t blame him one bit.
