MOTHER wanted to be impregnated with her dead son's semen to "reincarnate" him
A grieving mum who wanted to be artificially inseminated with her dead son's sperm has now met his biological twins. Rajashree Patil, 49, wanted to "reincarnate" her son using his sperm, but doctors told her she had to settle for a surrogate because she was unfit for IVF. Ms Patil, of Pune, India, managed to find a 35-year-old relative willing to act as a surrogate. Ms Patil's son Prathamesh had had a sample of his semen taken by medics before he underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy for a brain tumour. Unfortunately, he didn't survive the cancer. Ms Patil, a teacher, will now raise the boy and girl as her own. "I was carrying the soul of my son in me and was looking for a body to breathe it into," she said.
