Brooklyn Police searching for suspect wanted for assaulting officer at traffic stop
Police in Brooklyn are asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect wanted for assaulting an officer on Thursday.
A warrant has been issued for 33-year-old Jose Camacho, who also goes by the name 'Chico.' Camacho fled from a traffic stop causing a Brooklyn police officer to be trapped and dragged along the roadway. The incident happened on Ridge Road near Hammond Avenue around 12:15 p.m.
Camacho is described as 5'5" tall, weighing 160 pounds.
Camacho was last seen driving a 2000 gold colored Honda Accord LX with an Indiana license plate # 763 TQB in the upper right hand corner of the rear window. Police say his vehicle will have fresh damage on the passenger side as a result of hitting a tree.
Brooklyn Police Chief Scott Mielke emphasizes that Camacho has a long history of drug abuse and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information is asked to call Brooklyn Police at 216-749-1234.
