Analyst estimates suggest that Diablo Immortal's received
If you're just getting started with Diablo Immortal, be sure to read our beginner tips guide.Diablo Immortal had a hell of a launch with Activision Blizzard D2R Items, with revenue similar to other mobile games like Pokemon Go and Call of Duty Mobile. Analyst estimates suggest that Diablo Immortal's received 8.5 million downloaded and over $24million in the first two weeks following its launch.
The estimates from data analyst Appmagic (via PocketGamer) suggest that Diablo Immortal is one of Blizzard's most downloaded apps, and is the second-highest earning app behind Hearthstone. Its market share in the United States accounted for 43 percent of revenue, and was then followed by South Korea at 23%. Both the iOS and Android markets account for a roughly even amount of the market share. And the downloads topped out within just three days.
For comparison, Call of Duty Mobile has earned nearly $18 million during its first week according to SensorTower, and Pokemon Go generated $14 million in its first week according to SuperData (via BusinessInsider).
It's important to keep in mind that they're not 1:1 comparisons since they're from various analysts and each covers one week instead of the initial two weeks of Diablo Immortal. It does however show that the numbers across the board are very comparable.
Though it's doing well economically, Diablo Immortal has been met with mixed reactions by both the critics and fans due to its microtransaction system, which many have criticized as predatory. The GameSpot Diablo Immortal review noted that the main campaign is very enjoyable, but when you reach the end of the game D2R ladder items buy, the constant search for good loot , which appears intended to lead players towards spending money may not be appealing.
