David Fitzpatrick
I am surprised we have signed another left back, but that said this is still an excellent signing as David has plenty of experience in the National League and even the EFL. He made 22 appearances for Port Vale in Sky Bet League Two only a season ago, while Fitzpatrick also played a key role in Macclesfield Town’s title success in the Vanarama National League a few years ago. David went on to make 181 appearances for The Silkmen, so this certainly is a bit of a coup for us. In my opinion Josh Askew has been one of our better performers this season so it would be a shame if he is dropped, although he could may well be allowed to play further up the pitch if that means Darren Stephenson plays up front instead of being on the left flank. Time will tell, but this is a very good signing for us so I look forward to watching what David can bring to the table.
