Last seasons first match against Leeds on the opening weekend was a win in name only.
A knock-a-thon and if Leeds hadn't been down to 12 and been as poor as us in the ball handling department we'd have lost by a score.
An awful first game for C4 to cover.
I thought back then after that match that last season was going to be a long one - and it was.
Worst SL season ever - not just in the finishing position but the lack of quality in the way we played.

Some great numbers so far in round1:
11k at Wire
8.5k at Leigh
10k at Rovers
Hull are on for our highest non Derby crowd since 2010 tomorrow (aiming at 14k)
Unsure on Wakefield but their ground is a building site and Catalans of course means no away fans so hard to judge their crowd for now.
Was honestly expdcting a drop due to the cost of living and this years feels like a bit of filler before the IMG changes so its a pleasant surprise.

I feel some changes need to be made on the edges and some focus on defending kicks to the edges is needed. I thought the middles went reasonably well so wouldn’t change much there. Perhaps more focus on the kicks on last.

Huddersfield away should be a stiffer test than our opener against a depleted Leeds team (apparently they had a few missing). Let's hope Powelly and his charges keep up the good work over the Hill keeping that cowbell where it truly belongs.
