I wasn’t a big believer when we appointed smith. I thought he was an easy option but so far I’m happy with the direction he’s taking us. I just sometimes look at his team sheet and think why. E.g Lane and Dwyer been in the 17 pretty much every week.
With us down on numbers I’ll be really disappointed if we don’t see Balmforth and Jebson/Armstrong in the 17 this week.

Just reading on the Guardian website that Bullock & Dean picked up injuries in the reserves game against Leeds. Luckily Minikin was impressive over 80 minutes so should be available to help us out against Hull.

Some more information and a couple of tweets, could it really be possible for a 14 team SL happening?
Breaking News from the RFL.
RL Commercial will enter a 30-day exclusive negotiating period with Sky Sports to formalise the broadcast rights agreement.
It would appear the RFL have managed to increase the offer made from Sky from £17M to £20M+ a decrease on the current deal.

Potentially opening up an old debate here but I see Micky Mac has been cleared to play on Saturday, after a successful appeal. It’s only fair to mention that, given we discuss Saints bans/appeals. I think it adds weight to people saying we need to stop rolling over and letting our belly be tickled. That MM challenge wasn’t much to write home about but it was comfortably worse than the Kaide Ellis one against HKR and we didn’t appeal that. I’ve said before, Saints would help themselves by stop making... Читать дальше...

So ,the state of the art training facilities have taken a backward step. Perhaps Longshaw Street field will be the facilities of choice & not far from the club. The lads could run there & back.

So SL have confirmed they are finalising a 3 year deal with SKY that includes all games having a video ref and being able to be screened, and potential for free to air broadcasts (such as Channel4)
But then the bad part, rumour has it the money is a small drop. I assume SKY offered 2 years at same price or 3 at slightly less per year and the game has gone for the stability of a longer term.

Greenwood said he was training hard to get back in the side, so I think some of the suggestions about him being a ‘bad apple’ might be a bit unfair. Seen a few suggestions online about him staying away from games etc which is clearly untrue and easy to see how one rumour can suddenly snowball.
I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have a role to play in the side in 2023 even if we decided to go down a different path next season.
Scottish Sun saying we’re signing Kamara. £5m. Also someone who’s usually credible saying we’re in for Obrien from Forrest too.

I agree, its little things like that, that is easy to forget especially if its only happening every 50 yrs. On the other end of the scale Superleague Champions four years on the trot in this professional era is a very big thing and is not easy to forget.
We know opposition fans want to forget this much bigger thing but its stuck all bitter and twisted inside their heads at the moment. The biggest thing this season will be which team knocks Saints out of the play... Читать дальше...
It looks like the negotiations with Nathan Phillips are going nowhere or they are about to announce it tomorrow.
Kamara, McLean, Shelvey and the kid from Brighton getting the most mentioned.
No names yet to play up front which is where we are in need along with a LB.
Archer now linked with Southampton who have plenty of money to spend.

I wouldn't expect anything near that. Friday night, M62 on the back of a disappointing performance against Cas. I reckon we will take 100-200 max.
We took over 500 to Huddersfield and Hull but they were on the back of decent performances the week before. Hudds was a Friday night but only a short journey on the M62 and not the usual issues around Manchester way and Hull was a Sunday afternoon. Doubt we will match those numbers for this game.
