How can it take until the Friday to make this kind of decision? Warrington may not have trained this week, because the RFL aren't exactly experts on communication, so that gives Saints a massive leg up for the final.

Hopefully Keighran can take over and take the pressure off Smith a bit.
There is a good player in there, we have all seen it.
I think the movement back to traditional 6 and 7 with French at 6 has helped; with the added benefit of consistent halfback partner in French and forwards performing well.
If he wants go become a great player, he needs to be doing it week in week out and regardless of the above. Hopefully with experience and confidence he knows how to adapt his game and have an impact regardless. Читать дальше...

Wigan have recruited well and early, but I still think Leeming will be found out there. He's a good pack up and runner, but his defence is too soft, and I don't think Wigan will like that.
Keighran and Walters are obviously good signings.
Powell would be ok, but entirely depends on who we bring in at 7. Smith likes his 9s to be distributors and good defenders, which is where Powells strengths are. He also comes from a winning environment, and has plenty of experience to add to O'connor. Читать дальше...

I'm concerned that TS always said we would start slow but that was because we would finish strong and peak by Sept.
It's been the opposite and clearly, he can't control the playing squad who have shown they can't win when it counts. Wire at home was abysmal I was told by a few who went.
This is why I suggested that we literally bin 14 of the 17 players OOC at the end of this season.

all this should be taken into account in the new sky deal - its a growing sport - it looks like average attendances are up, even in a cost of living crisis.
To merely have the same sky deal (or a bit less) is for me a huge fail.
Lets face it, everything has gone up hugely since the last deal, I know my sky bill certainly has, so a deal at the same level is a massive cut in real terms.

I see our attendances are up again this season. So once again I will repeat what I said last year and the year before that, in that I hope the Club understands that over players Coaches, a great merchandising set up and a great Stadium to play in, we, the long suffering fans, are our Clubs greatest asset. Other clubs and sometimes much better teams like Salford, Leigh, Huddersfield (particularly) Castleford and yes even Rovers, would kill to have a fan base the size of ours now, never mind what its potential is.
