Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the opening forty-five minutes of action against AC Milan this evening in the Champions League round of sixteen first-leg clash at the San Siro.
Tottenham head into the break against Stefano Pioli’s side currently trailing 1-0 after Brahim Diaz’s seventh-minute header.
Fraser Forster: Was unlucky to concede the opener after showing good reflexes. 6.
Emerson Royal: Had a long-range effort on goal but it was straight down the barrel of the keeper. Has battled well down the right. 6.
Cristian Romero: Returned after his domestic suspension. At fault for the opener when he was easily muscled off the ball in the air – has to be stronger. Hernandez easily ghosted past him close to half-time. 5.
Eric Dier: Hesitated for a split second in delaying to close down Theo Hernandez in the buid-up to Diaz’s goal. 5.
Clement Lenglet: Preferred to Davies on the left side of defence. has tried to get forward when possible. 6.
Ivan Perisic: A quiet half from the Croatian who has not influenced matters. 5.
Pape Matar Sarr: Made a good interception to break up a potential Milan counterattack after a wayward pass from Kane. 7.
Oliver Skipp: Has done well to get the ball moving alongside Sarr and has broken up play on a couple of occasions. 7.
Harry Kane Is not being given much time on the ball with Kjaer following him almost everywhere. 6.
Dejan Kulusevski: Has looked too casual on the ball in recent matches. 5.
Heung-min Son: His set-piece delivery has been of a decent standard, but needs to do more in open play. His chance on goal just before the half looked like player who is still short of confidence despite the offside flag going up. 5.
