Wife is an Oxford United fan*
*i have to tell her their score each week though
So use 'Man Utd' and 'Man City'! I will never, ever accept use of 'United' and 'City' to refer to the Manchester clubs.
Why should it? It someone says 'Argyle', it will be Plymouth. Wednesday, Orient etc. But there are loads of clubs which use 'City' and 'United'.
So if there's commentary on Blues vs Man City and the commentator refers to the latter as 'City', it doesn't annoy you? Because you've just accepted it?
It's only the moaners & you'll never make them happy
My wife doesn't understand football. She says it's played by 22 idiots. Ive tried but after 34 years I've lost hope. I'm the only one mad enough.
I'm okay. Feel sorry for my son though. Mortgage out of reach, pension a luxury and retirement at about 70.
No one says Birmingham City, West Ham United or whatever every time, do they? They shorten it to Birmingham or West Ham. You can't do that for the Manchester clubs so you drop the Manchester bit instead. Everyone knows who you mean anyway, and anyone that pretends they don't is weird.
We're Blues not city.
Not healthy imo to let work envelop your home time, or to bring actual work home, its a vicious ever increasing circle, . It was really getting to me last year so I took a few weeks off to try and get the balance back. It worked for a while, but I finally took the plunge and said F**k it and retired 6 years early.
Financially its cost a hell of a lot of lost pension, but the most valuable thing we have, that money can't buy, is time and there's no way I was going to work my nadgers off for another six years.

Ordered ours, upper Kop, the message about Brentford was still there but I just clicked past that.
Am I the only person that gets annoyed by use of 'City' and 'United' to refer to the Manchester clubs?
It's as if they're the only clubs that use those words in their name. People don't seem to realise that by referring to Manchester United as 'United', they're implying that there is only one 'United'. Or, at least, only one worth mentioning. The best 'United'.
There's a bloke at work who supports Stoke and even he refers to Man City as 'City' - YOUR OWN CLUB IS ALSO 'CITY'!!!!... Читать дальше...
Depends what makes you happy. If it makes you happy to bring work home and stay in touch with colleagues then do it. If it makes you feel like you're working all the time then make sure you don't.

I honestly don’t understand how Nsue has gone from being a promotion RB to a one legged sh1t m0ng in just over a year? But he absolutely has.
Bored of the blues talk so time for something different......
Work life balance, how's yours?
What is healthy?
A complete detachment from work the second you leave or interaction outside of work with colleagues/watching share prices/news updates etc etc
Personally i feel mine is awful, in fact I would say despite signing off when i do it can be somewhat consuming.
Just wondered what others felt was acceptable
