I wanted to reply to alegend in another thread, but that's been locked for juvenile behaviour...... Anyway, in reply to alegend, I always come back to Warrington for comparisons, when people moan about who we sign etc. I'm sure we could all come up with a shopping list of players if we could spend up to the cap. Let's take Warrington in the last 18 months, Widdop then Williams, 2 players who were regularly cutting it in the NRL, are Warrington now better since they arrived?! I would say not... On our day we are not only capable of matching but beating HKR ,it really does depend on the mindset of the players getting off the coach on the day . No amount of training in the week will make an apeth of difference if they aren’t mentally up for the fight ,remember JJB stating that 80% of your performance is formed in the dressing room before the game ,get that right and your in with a shout . Get the attitude wrong and you’ve a Cas or even a Wigan performance to look forwards to . The shining... Читать дальше...
Crushing to lose in that manner.
Enjoyed it for what it was… both games this weekend have seen a bit more oomph.
Sky punditry is a bit poor isn’t it ?!

I also reckon there isn't much in the club's wallet.

Evening fellas, not been here for ages but it’s quite painful to read the pair of you having to prop upthis place on your own.thought a little help might be needed…
Anyway, 24 games on the bounce was unbelievable, even if it was at Championship level, then bloody Leigh ruined it all in Blackpool. Even now I still contend that Scott Murrell’s hand never touched the turf and we got robbed.

Well after a heroic performance against Bradford we move on to another test against barrow, hopefully we can carry on with our winning run and progress in the league, it’ll be interesting to see if we have come through that clash unscathed injury wise as Kavanagh went down a couple of times , it ll probably be Fairbanks last game availability for a while and I’d like to see jouffret n Keyes playing on a wider pitch .

Hirds in his 5th year at the club Marty, Higgins is in his 5th month and over a year younger. Im a fan of Hird, but he really should be looking the more polished prospect out the 2. Higgins is progressing really well.

He was ultimately signed as a fullback - it's probably still his best position but others have far surpassed him at Wigan in that role. Him moving to Yorkshire to play fullback and us bringing in a specialist centre will surely be how this one ends.

I couldn't see during the match on Friday what happened between fairbank and hallas but having watched it back a few times i thought jacob was well within his rights to defend himself. It goes without saying that if you do retaliate in that manner you will get sent off but 10 minutes in the bin for each player would of done for me but that isn't in the rules mores the pity. As for the bradford fans being unhappy i couldn't agree more with there unhappiness they pay there money and are entitled to express there opinions. Читать дальше...

Made me feel sick watching the tries back, especially where French breaks the line and sends Gaskell the wrong way. I appreciate he’s beaten and Gaskell probably wouldn’t have got back but he just dropped his head and gave up, imo you play to the whistle. Anything could’ve happened upon grounding the ball.
You wouldn’t get that with Jowitt.

Only 4 Days away and not even discussing the game. I’ve booked my bus seat and match ticket this morning, even though still bitterly disappointed from the Cas game. Another chap getting his at the same time and saying as bad as we’ve been just lately we still need to get behind the club.Let’s hope we can put a strong 17 team out for this game. This will be another difficult game for us, KR are well coached and playing well, but we’ve upset the odds before, we can do it again.

First professional contracts for Jake Higgins and Baily Aldridge
Higgins rise has been excellent, only picked up from Castleford Panthers in the community game in December. Hasnt had the S+C and Nutritional advantages the other lads start recieving when they join scholarships at 14/15.
He's very similar to Joe Hird in the way they play imo, they just seem to have a maturity and understand whats needed from a teams props
Much like Hird, all about putting some good size on now. Читать дальше...

Would love to know what Kear thinks of the fitness levels. It's his job that's on the line because of it. The players are taking the mickey by turning up with beer bellies. It shows Kear and the club as a soft touch.
Possibly Isa, Marshall, Thornley, Partington and Hardaker(?) available for this one. Marshall straight back in for me. Thornley is the interesting one as I wasn't expecting that and could make a big difference to our options. Isa and Partington not in the team for mine, barring injuries. The lads who played yesterday were all too good and the places should be theirs to lose. Same for Halsall in the backs.
I'd go:
Field, Marshall, Halsall, Thornley, French
Cust, Smith
Singleton, O'Neil... Читать дальше...

Lilley is in the T and A talking about how hard it is to play expansive rugby on a narrow pitch - which is of course true. But it's like he's never heard of offloads, short passing, running off the shoulder of the ball carrier or any kind of support play in the middle of the field. It's either one up or touchline to touchline.
Lilley needs to go to dummy half and keep at Doyle at 13. Against Workington in the League 2 play off final Lilley played at 9 and his passing was outstanding. Short, quick, runners both side and we killed them. Читать дальше...
