I've waited a long time to post having been lambasted for posting that without fages we would really struggle to win. Well we got Wigan on a bad day and still didn't quite win. With Fages we would 100% have won, and it really is so sad that we missed that chance to get silverware. As many neutral fans have pointed out running the ball on the 6th tackle in the last 15 mins was really so stupid. Currie's debut was in 2012, King's in 2014 (same year as Philbin) - and the lack of any 1st team regulars coming through the ranks since them highlights the potential issue (unless I've made any glaring omissions - aside from the younger players who've been given a chance this season under Powell).

Sounds like we could have a few done by the end of the week and I wouldn’t be surprised if Raphinha does go to Liverpool with Minamino coming the other way as part of the deal

Why would we sign him?
Lino plays scrum half and our Harry is the form scrum half in SL.
The only scenario is that he is reserve to Cust and Smith with Tommy retiring.

Hopefully we don’t get into a phase of playing well against the better sides (but ultimately losing) and playing badly against the weaker sides. Coming up is the must win against Dewsbury but the way Widnes are playing currently that might be a game to target as well. I wonder if we will have a new coach in by then? If not it’s difficult to see the point. Not sure we want to announce a new coach just prior to an absolute spanking by Rovers.

One thing to remember with Powell was he also had to do a lot of "squad surgery" when he took over at Leeds from Dean Lance as they were carrying a lot of senior players who were underperforming and the club was in a frustrating state of underachievement.

I’d go with a similar line up as before.

It’s essentially a free hit for us. I’d like to see us defend well again. Keep it respectable and just have a good go at them. Throw the ball about a bit, some off the cuff stuff. Keeping the ball alive etc.
