I don’t like the bloke at all. I don’t like how he’s acted in the past with the Blue Sox or with the RFL. And I don’t like aspects of what he is doing with the Bulls (not being present at these events, sounding disinterested etc) but to be fair to him. He’s making some good signings, good initiatives (back in schools, kids go free etc), putting plans together to take advantage of the culture and level up funding. Under his tenure there hasn’t been a whisper of admin which is unusual.

Is the “Powell-out brigade” those wanting the coach to do what he was brought in to do? He was brought in to make an underperforming team perform. Been backed to the hilt to do that, with a hand picked squad, so why should it be accepted to do worse than before his appointment?

Sheffield just announced signing of Ollie Roberts, the team/coach I dislike the most look to be putting together their strongest squad for a while. On another note looks as though Brad Knowles has been picked up by Doncaster, glad he got sorted after such a s****y year.

Let's start with Daryl Powell... Has he ever been considered a bad coach? No... Does one poor season at a new club make him a bad coach? No.
He talks a lot about accountability and self reflection, and lets face it, he's a smart man/coach. We believed that because we could offer more than Castleford, it would be an easy step up for Powell to start challenging for trophies straight away. I definitely expected a good season... Paulo Banned for the game against us, which is an added bonus. If we Drop Cooper and Lees and put in Oledzski and Thompson we'll be bang on in the forward battle. Should be a great game. Can't see NZ beating Aus but you never know
