Carl Hall has repeated his statement that the Don's are going up next season. So one might have thought the squad is to be considerably strengthened but with no disrespect to Brad Knowles and Elliot Hall, what is the justification for that claim. With the exception of the two players mentioned the squad is looking just the same as our last failure. So what on earth is Hall on about. Are the other teams in the league going to be a walk over.Same old same old springs to mind. Читать дальше...

Having been at Crigglestone for 40 years I now know who you mean as I couldn’t think who it was.
That’s a shocker.

We beat PNG convincingly which was the opposite to the result when GB last played them.

What am I missing please?
The 'early bird' 2023 price is up from last year (South Stand £220 to £240) and the 10 month installment plan will cost a further £24.20
Is this an attempt to get people to seriously consider not renewing?
I'll pay it of course but sure feels like its spit not a tear blurring my vision

Right call for me with Longstaff, loved his enthusism & workrate - he COULD develop into top class, but won't strengthen our 1st 17 just yet.
Savelio, Lane & Cator decent back row IF ( and its a big IF ) all fit & healthy all season. We have backup in Gardner, Sao, Lovodua, Scott, Griffin, Severs etc. To me we need a dominant second rower, not another squad player.
Fully appreciate salary cap issues, suspect we might have to wait a year.
Wish Ellis all the best & thanks for showing up some of our 'experienced' boys... Читать дальше...

My only gripe with selection was Watkins at centre. This is international rugby league. You cant have a centre whos slower than my dead nan there who also takes 2 weeks to turn around.. He was woefully found out against Samoa. If Percival was playing, we win that game no danger

Not throwing the baby out , but the standard of rugby in my opinion seems to be dropping across the board , England dont have much competition for places , most of the side picks itself . I think its time to scrap the cap and let the sport grow. In my opinion there is no way on earth this Oz team would beat the 1994 team . They have always had multiple players who are impossible to deal with , I just dont see that in this side . GB also had players that were impossible to deal with like Offiah ... Читать дальше...

I'm afraid it was always going to happen. We need to find some bigger & stronger girls to match the two or three really strong girls that NZ had. They crunched us a bit. Bit like watching a lightweight v heavyweight boxing match. We are way off matching 'em. Mind you you couldn't fault our effort and commitment.

I thought England were well beaten but the second rower who played at 12 was excellent with some great cover tackling and strong running. The half backs didn't really show though and how Jodie Cunningham gets picked is beyond me I am sorry to say.

To a certain extent it's getting beyond the point of repair. We are so far behind the NRL cap it's a no brainer for any SL player to go if offered. We can raise the cap here, but that won't increase the quality, it'll pretty much just getting players here a better deal.
Realistically the SL is a feeder for the NRL with most of our decent players having a stint down there. In theory that should make England more competitive

I see we've given all of our social media management to a PR agency.
Yet again the club will continue to preach to the choir and try to flog a budget meal in the gold lounge......totally ignoring the need to engage with new audiences.
This is my 23rd season as a supporter, but it is becoming increasingly obvious as the years go by that under David Hughes, the club will never be in a position to actually try and market itself.
Hughes has 26 home games to achieve his 5k target......
