Happy New Year. For several years I have organised a Fantasy Rugby League Competition with the proceeds going towards the Halifax Panthers Independent Supporters Trust. If anybody is interested in taking part I would gladly forward onto you the required documents to enable you to enter. My email address is stephen.thomas59@yahoo.co.uk. It is £10 to enter with winnings dependent upon the number of entries. Thank you.

3/4 empty stadium?
Sorry, but that would mean we get 2,300 as an average. We've not done that since 2013 I believe.
Positives from 2022? Nothing springs to mind. Crap team, crap manager and that God awful blue shirt.....only monkey f@#$ing off to be a store keeper offered a glimmer of positivity.......but 2022 was just the 15th year in Hughes destruction of the club many more people used to care about.

Huge responsibility on Eckersley at the start of 2023 if Miski went. He’d be first reserve for both wing and centre (with Thornley out) which feels too much, too soon to me. I do want to see what the kid can do though but you risk over burdening him.
If we’re to bring an overseas player in, it would need to be at the expense of Mago IMO, a straight replacement for Isa (extremely unlikely) or we’d need an overseas forward and a British back, with Miski making way.

Whitbread had a good game but head and shoulder! Can’t agree there tbh.

Its disappointing but the previous physio team did try to bring players back too early after injury and we suffered with repeat injuries.Tuimavave was a prime example.
I said previously we should be looking at our conditioning and physios and was criticised by many on here so i am pleased we now have a much more cautious approach from this new regime

Has never let us down IMO.

He is a squad player at best. He's not big, fast or a great ball player, his speed from acting half his abysmal.
It depends on your version of let down, if someone that tries their best is your requirement, then no he hasn't as he always does try his best. If you're looking for talent and ability to go with the effort, that is where I feel he's let down, not his fault at all, but he's limited.

I don't know enough about the other SL teams to make a reliable stab at this. From a Leeds perspective, expectations are rightly riding high after the raft of changes made by Rohan Smith, and factoring in our late season run in 2022 that saw us make the GF after such a terrible start to the season under Agar (although perhaps a better opponent ought to have humanely put us out of the play-offs by the semi-final stage).
A top 4 finish to the regular season would be a minimum expectation for me. Читать дальше...
I think we need to be clearer on criteria here. There's a big difference between a big name on big money (e.g. Brett Mullins), an NRL struggler who doesn't live up to expectations in SL (e.g. Lolohea at Leeds), an NRL reserve-grader who doesn't cut it (Achurch, Vickery), and a potentially decent player who was just unlucky with injuries (Paul Bell).
In SL, while we've had plenty come over from the NRL who haven't set SL on fire, I think we've been lucky to avoid some of the outright howlers... Читать дальше...
There's paper talk of Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza. So that could be possible

Friendly games mean nothing ,though I am paying to go to hospitality for R Lynn testimonial. We will see were we are when the season starts My thoughts are ,though pack looks strong apart from 9 could be a hard slog for us to survive .Hope I am proved wrong

Interview with Jake Trueman in The Mirror. I was hoping we'd see him by Easter but it sounds like he'll be out a bit longer than that.
Trueman is likely to sit out the opening two months of the campaign. But he insisted: “I can’t wait to get out there with a new club. It’s been a tough couple of years with injuries but I shouldn’t miss too much of the new season. The knee’s coming along well. I’ve just started running again on Alt G so I’m hoping to be back at the end of April or early May.”
The club has posted a thread “highlights of 2022(in fact they’ve posted highlights of 2023 but I’m sure they’ll correct that)”.
Got me thinking. I suppose the highlight would be the 2nd half against Sheffield at Ebbsfleet. Having said that a pithy tweeter would then add Low light 1st half against Sheffield at Ebbsfleet. In the spirit of balance and in our usual positive way what are other posters highlights and lowlights. Obviously staying up with the coach/squad we had at start of season has... Читать дальше...

Our new replacement Coach , uncle Tony Smith , has failed to make FC the most feared club in Super League despite the fact he’s been with us for 3 months now !!
We want more than this - already. We deserve better than this !
I told my mate : “I’m a patient man but Smith should have restored us to the pinnacle of Super League by now.
You have to question his commitment, especially as he hasn’t
slagged off Rovers yet. Not one mention of Shabby Sheek
How much longer are we going to give Smith? Читать дальше...
The framing here is wrong. 2021 was a Covid affected year in which the furlough scheme had largely gone away. It's amazing in most ways that the figures aren't a lot worse.
As for Wakey, we know they run a tight ship; they don't have a wealthy backer so simply can't afford to lose significant sums.

Pretty sure he’s renting out a property of Alex Simmons. Not sure where it is though.
