Nene Macdonald will have a field day down our flanks. As good as I think Gill and Evans are. Macdonald is on another level. And Leilua too (for when we play Fev).

It will take a great defensive effort to keep him quiet. And even if we do. They’ll cut him out and use him to tie up defenders and free up space.

As much as I want to beat them. Can’t see anything but a pasting. I’m hoping for the best in terms of effort but the skill levels and speed just aren't up to Leigh’s.

This is a really good match up for Round 1. You could say Austin has been dumb getting himself banned from a friendly. I still think the rules as they stand are a bit daft. C4 premiere and one of the better players unavailable through a something-and-nothing incident in a friendly 2 weeks ago.

I am a Hull KR supporter but I post in peace. I am old enough to remember many many great games between us and the great repartee between our respective supporters. i remember standing among 2000 away fans at Odsal providing you with about £40,000. Similarly. our away stand was packed with your followers. Now, RL is hard up. Teams are on the bread line and what do we get? Zero away fans at 2 matches. £60000 just gone. Yup. I’m totally prepared for a couple of months of the learning curve. I’d rather us start slowly, finish in 5th and build up to a peak in the playoffs, than play consistently well until it counts and crash out in the first semi.

Powell has improved every club he’s coached at, and has an amazing record with young players and improving seemingly average ones. I’m prepared to give him a bit of time to work on us.

Hopefully we’ll all feel a bit more comfortable come mid-season.

Just got a message from mr carter sounding the rally cry to get more kids involved , by all accounts kids season ticket no are down , these are the future of not only the club but the game . Got 3 for my grandkids but understand tough times although he says we are in front with adult tickets . Hopefully things will turn around once we get some good wins under our belts and play that open attractive rugby that we finished with last season

Just been reading the article on BBC website about increasing positivity surrounding RL, World Cup & free to air tv deal.

Seems to me that however much interest is generated by the WC & SL on 4, the vast majority of people will not be able to see a live game at that level due to the reluctance to expand outside the M62. Wonder if RL will regret not finding a way to get & keep a London team in SL?
