Saints new ground is the only Superleague stadium I've not been to. Thought it was a bargain at that price. Seats on the 20 yard line.

I actually thought he had died as we hadn't heard anything from him in ages, and nobody has noticed because he does so little or even less. He's certainly has been the invisible man for many months now or perhaps years. I can't remember the last time he made any sort of statement.

So it is our final home league game of the season this sunday before the playoffs it doesn't seem 2 minutes since we were playing batley away back in January to start this season. As for the game it will be interesting to see if we rest any one or go with our strongest side injuries permitting. Simon does say in his post widnes match interview that he wants right a few wrongs against the big 2 he feels we did our selves justice for about 50 minutes away to fev but in the cup game at home we rolled... Some fans would of got a sore neck from looking to there left for most of the first half. We did look a little shaky early doors in defence but once they had a try ruled out for a forward pass we dealt with there attack really well for the rest of the game. And from a attacking point of view we took our chances really well in pretty clinical fashion to wrap up our first win at widnes since 2010.

There is no doubt Gale is a good player.
But at his age and previous injury he is only a stop gap.

If he remained fit he would be a great stop gap but we have to look for younger players who can take us forward, whether as an understudy to develop with Gale, or a young but established player who can stay to rebuild the team.

So ignoring the stats you don't like (MoS) what about the SL player stats, where other Saints players are returning figures for tackles, carries, metres gained, try assists, etc much greater than Paasi (who does, I'll grant you, come in at no.3 for offloads - which I guess you will argue are all those gamebreakers, but then was also wholly dependent upon his support runners).

So does your subjective opinion have a greater weight (or repeatability) than either fact based stats, and the opinions of a panel of RL experts? Читать дальше...

Just read that Premier sports are going to show one of the play off games on Monday 19th September and whoever wins that game then has to play a semi final on the Sunday. Who thought this was a good idea? That really is stacking the odds in favour of Leigh and Fev to give them an even better chance of making it to the final. I find it odd that the RFL allow this happen. Part time teams get to play twice in 6 days in a play off comp . That’s a level playing field.

The completely knackered/injury prone Ashurst, not worth more than a one year deal is ever present and the clubs man of steel.

So if we do sign Gale, then going on fans knowledge (myself included) I expect 5 try assists and impeccable kicking in every game he plays
