Im not sure it's quite that cut and dried. However people need to realise that for all the hype IMG are glorified consultants and can't push through anything anymore than SKY could 25 years ago. All teams will vote based on self interest and always will.

I wonder what we’ll be talking about this time tomorrow, I hope we can all have a sensible debate, but more likely some will find fault with everything.

Yeah i am getting that feeling too. They have certainly had their weaknesses exposed a lot more this season than in previous years. Wellens will have been involved heavily in the defensive coaching though so i would still expect them to be solid in 'D' but you never now, they are definitely coming back to the pack now though after 4 awful years as a Wigan fan to watch it all unfolding but fair play to them at the end of the day. I thought Salford would have been at shorter odds than 25-1. They were mightily impressive at the back end of the season, and if Croft had been available for the semi-final I would have fancied them to beat Saints.

No chance. They are losing players at the moment and there's talk of Croft getting out this year never mind next. I'd be very surprised if they're as good next season as they were at the end of this.

Yes apparently MC had a heart attack when he got the first water bill. It’s got underground sprinklers that pop up in case people don’t know. Very posh.

Now, if somebody could explain to me why these academies have been so relatively unproductive for so long and that there are realistic steps that they can take to remedy that without cutting 25% off the first team wage bill, or something similarly self defeating, then I'll very happily change my mind. Who wouldn't want a substantial no- or low-cost benefit. But unless or until one of the less well-off clubs makes it work, I'll remain skeptical based on what I've seen these last ~15 years. Halifax Panthers • Some news would be nice

Well over a week after the disappointing end to what had been an otherwise great season, and unless I'm missing something the silence from the club is deafening. Even though communication from the RFL about the detail of how funding for next year is calculated it does seem as though this one defeat may have an impact on plans for next year. With supporters feeling a bit flat after York some honest and hopefully upbeat communication from the club is urgently needed - even if its just another resigning- just to get some positivity going again. Im not sure where the Fusitua going home stuff is coming from?

Not sure players will just leave decent contracts without having something lined up, I know we've had a couple in the recent years but they were in different circumstances (family issues for Merrin and Covid reasons for Ava)

Wakefield Trinity • What we currently look like for 2023

I knew Stuart the third minion would soon come to Kevins defence but did he not say that MA would be able to promote the best from the academy due to his in-depth knowledge, I guess this was one he missed.
In answer to the subject question we look exactly the same as we did two weeks after the season ended or have I missed a signing.
How can anybody be less than confident until we actually start to see the quality and quantity of the signings.

The Virtual Terrace • This is not a cycle - what can other clubs do?

I think the decision to take away Bradford's Academy licence was a striking example of how incompetence blights the game, and thwarts its success. Even setting aside my own feelings about losing one ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak few years, it made no strategic sense. It has always been an absolute production line of talent, with raw recruits coming in to the Bradford first team, and those with added sparkle moving into Super league. It was a win/win.

The rather mealy-mouthed backtracking... Читать дальше...

Think that was Toby Brannan who is a big prop/loose forward. Him and Forber played loose forward and hooker but Forber wore 13 and Brannan 9 for some reason (maybe shirt sizes given the difference between them). Forber isn’t the biggest from what I’ve seen but looks a prospect.

That makes sense. I thought our 9 looked ridiculously large for a hooker.

Wigan Warriors • Smith for England

I believe Harry Smith isn’t in the Wales squad which points to him being in the England squad for the World Cup. I see on social media a lot of other teams fans in uproar and saying he’s only been picked because he plays for Wigan and the Wane link but I think he deserves it, I don’t have many I would have in front of him. Lomax will probably miss it through injury, Welsby better at 1 imo, Hastings has been out for a while after a bad injury, Williams coming off the back of a poor season, Mikey Lewis... Warrington Wolves • Ratchford and depth in the halves.

I’d be happy to see Ratchford in the halves for 2023.
Yes he has lost a yard of pace, but still has a lightening quick mind like Briers in the last 4 years of his career.
With the squad around Ratchford in 2023, he’ll be ok.

Wrap him up in cotton wool by spelling Hayes & Dean in easy games.
We don’t have to be rash in signing someone, but ideally I would like a 7 as we have no depth other than those under 19s.

I would prefer to use Ratchford as 14 as I can’t think of... Читать дальше...

Strange on both Holmes and Bullock, if they are true. Bullock, as others have said, has proved to be a decent squad member for what I would imagine to be a modest salary.

Holmes may be driving it himself, I can imaging him being annoyed moving across with a coach in the name of trust only to be dropped for a mid-season signing with only a handful of games under his belt. But Powell picked him, moved him and picked him again, so he must want him, unless his salary is bigger than his return... Читать дальше...

The ticket site seems to have the correct ones:

SF1 in Leeds - QF1 vs. QF3 winners
SF2 in London - QF2 vs. QF4 winners

Don't want him. Leeds won those trophies in spite of him not because of him, and it's only taken one season for Featherstone to be sick of his dumb tactics and illogical substitutions.

He would be a great pick up but can’t see it, Leeds may put him out on loan I guess.

They moved heaven and earth to sign him from Widnes still fighting off comp from nearly all the top sides.

Still only 21, next few seasons will be an indicator of where he ends up.

In regards to our half situation I think we are maybe going to play the waiting game and see what happens over the next few months at the World Cup. Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • Re: Morgan Knowles

The only genuinely awful tackle we've had this year's was Tetevano on Hurrell. A few more probably deserved suspensions (notably one of Prior's). Some of the others have been nonsensical, especially on Martin, who is about as clean a player as you'll see, who got suspended once for a completely laughable push on a Salford player at walking pace that would never have hurt the opponent in a million years, and once for incidental high contact which should have been a warning but nothing more.
